Jindal (India) Limited (JIL), a subsidiary of the BC Jindal Group, announced the commencement of a state-of-the-art metal coating production line at its Ranihati plant in West Bengal, representing an investment of approximately Rs 11 billion.

The first batch of products has rolled off the line, marking a significant milestone for the company's downstream expansion and modernization.

With the new production line in operation, the production of high-value-added coated steel is expected to increase by approximately 60%, reaching nearly 300,000 tons, and is projected to drive revenue growth of approximately 20% in fiscal year 2026. The products will be used in infrastructure, construction, white goods, solar panels, and high-end roofing.

This project is part of the Group's Rs 15 billion capital expenditure plan, aimed at strengthening its galvanized and galvalume product portfolio and expanding its market reach.

The company also plans to build a new steel plant in Odisha, with phased investments up to Rs 150 billion by 2030, in order to increase its market penetration across the country.
