Turkey’s Habaş Sınai ve Tıbbi Gazlar İstihsal Endüstri has started the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) process for its cold rolling facility in Aliağa, İzmir.

This 490 million TL project will feature a continuous pickling and tandem line (PL/TCM) to process 1.824 million tons of hot-rolled flat steel into 1.65 million tons of cold-rolled steel products annually.

To support these operations, the project also has five auxiliary units, including an acid regeneration plant, a water preparation and wastewater treatment unit, a rolling mill, a steam boiler, and a compressor. While construction continues following land preparation, the project awaits final permits.

This official review stage allows the public and civil organizations to examine the plant's technical compliance and environmental safeguards before the expected 12-month completion and start of operations.
