American steel mills delivered around 7.58 million net tons in January, surpassing December 2025 volumes by 1.7%. Data from the American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI) also showed a 2.0% increase compared to the same month last year.

Product performance varied across the sector. Corrosion-resistant sheet and strip shipments climbed by 11% over January 2025 levels, while hot-rolled sheet and strip had a modest 1% growth. In contrast, cold-rolled sheet and strip deliveries dropped by 13% during the same period.
