Angang achieves breakthrough in localization with new high surface tension cold-hard steel

26 Mar 2026 15:30 reported by Gloria Qiao

A A A
Recently, Angang Steel has successfully developed and mass-produced high surface tension cold-hardened steel, providing a localized alternative for key components used in transmission valve body gaskets by a well-known domestic manufacturer.

The newly developed steel maintains the excellent mechanical properties of conventional cold-hardened steel while significantly improving surface performance, making it highly compatible with advanced coating and bonding processes.

The first batch of trial orders has passed the customer’s rigorous full-process validation, with all performance indicators receiving high recognition.

This achievement not only helps Angang expand into the high value-added automotive steel market but also strengthens the resilience and security of China’s automotive supply chain.
