Taiwan’s Yusco hikes stainless steel prices for fifth consecutive month

Yieh United Steel Corp. (Yusco), a leading stainless steel manufacturer in Taiwan, announced further price increases for its April stainless steel products, continuing an upward trend since December 2025.

The company raised 304 series and 316L surcharges by NT$4,000 per ton, and 430 series prices rose by NT$1,500. This latest adjustment brings the cumulative price growth for 304 products to NT$19,500 over the past five months.

Escalating conflict in the Middle East has driven up global energy costs, including oil and natural gas, while tightening supply chains for ferrochrome, ferromolybdenum, and scrap steel. In addition, proposed Indonesian export duties on nickel and stricter ore supply controls have pushed nickel pig iron prices higher.

According to Yusco, these rising raw material costs, coupled with fluctuating exchange rates for the New Taiwan Dollar, significantly increased overall production expenses, driving the April price hike to maintain operational stability.
