Taiwan’s Walsin Lihwa raises stainless steel wire rod prices for April

31 Mar 2026 16:17 reported by Joy Liu

Walsin Lihwa, a stainless steel wire rod and cable manufacturer in Taiwan, announced its April price list on March 30, raising its 304 series wire rods by NT$4,000 per ton. This move aligns with earlier price jumps from Yieh United Steel Corp. (Yusco).

In terms of other grades, 316 products rose by NT$7,000, and the 200 and 400 series increased by NT$2,000 per ton.

The company said this price surge was due to Middle East instability, which drove up costs for nickel, chrome, molybdenum, and energy. A weakening New Taiwan Dollar and potential Indonesian export taxes on nickel further intensified inflationary pressure. These adjustments directly reflected the impact of rising production costs and changing global supply dynamics.
