AISI: US’ raw steel production in week ending Mar 28 rises w-o-w, y-o-y

According to statistics from the American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI), in the week ending on March 28, 2026, the production of US raw steel totaled 1.803 million net tons, a 1.2% increase from the previous week and a 5.9% rise compared to the same period in 2025. The capacity utilization rate for the week reached 77.9%, up from 77.0% a week ago and 76.5% year on year.

As of the week ending on March 28, 2026, the adjusted year-to-date production of US raw steel has amounted to 22.197 million net tons, rising by 5.0% compared to the prior-year level of 21.143 million net tons. The year-to-date capacity utilization rate is 77.2%, an increase from the 76.4% recorded during the same period last year.
