Yieh United Steel Corp. (Yusco), a leading stainless steel manufacturer in Taiwan, has produced the first coil from its upgraded Steckel mill, achieved through technical support from the Institute of Engineering Technology of the University of Science and Technology Beijing (USTB).

The automation group provided an intelligent control system for the entire production line, utilizing proprietary technology to replace foreign systems. This flexible facility features a million-ton annual capacity for high-end stainless steel and carbon steel plates and coils.

The upgrade overcomes challenges in precision rolling and quality stability for diverse product specifications. By applying thirty years of metallurgical experience, the USTB team ensured stable operations and supported Yusco’s transition toward smarter manufacturing.

This collaboration serves as a bridge for technical exchange between Taiwan and China, improving product quality while increasing competitiveness in the premium steel market.
