Algoma Steel, an integrated steel producer in Canada, announced an increase in prices for all plate products by US$60 per short ton (C$80 per short ton), effective immediately.

The company also said that details regarding potential fuel-related surcharges will be announced separately.

The move followed similar price hikes by Nucor and SSAB Americas, which recently raised plate prices by comparable margins amid rising costs.
