Turkish steel manufacturer Tosyalı Holding intends to commence the production of automotive-grade steel at its Algerian facility during the third quarter of this year. This development is part of the company’s US$2.5 billion investment program within the nation.

Out of the 1.6 million tons of flat steel production capacity available at the site, the firm will dedicate 700,000 tons specifically to automotive-grade products that meet rigorous surface quality requirements.

The company also plans to expand its total Algerian production capacity by 3 million tons. This growth will enable the facility to double daily output from 50,000 to 100,000 tons of steel within 30 months. Additionally, this capacity will supply raw materials for oil and gas pipe manufacturing.

Tosyalı Holding is broadening its presence across Africa through new projects in Libya and Angola. These developments serve the company's objective of building an integrated steelmaking ecosystem on the continent, including operations from iron ore extraction to finished goods.
