Tang Eng Iron Works Co., Ltd., one of the major stainless steel producers in Taiwan, announced higher prices for May today (April 30), adopting the same strategy as Yieh United Steel Corp. (Yusco).

Tang Eng raised the price of its 304 hot-rolled and cold-rolled coils by NT$4,000 per ton. This adjustment represents the sixth consecutive month of price increases for the manufacturer. Besides, the firm also hiked the surcharge increase for 316L products by NT$1,500 per ton.

With this announcement, all Taiwan’s major upstream stainless steel producers have now implemented uniform price hikes for May. The consistent NT$4,000 increase across 304 coils and 300-series wire rods shows a synchronized upward movement in the flat and long product markets.
