The Secretary-General of the Presidency of Guinea, Colonel Amara Camara, said that at least 100 mining permits had been suspended for not meeting the standards. These permits were owned by companies operating illegally in the West African country.

This year, Guinea started to reform its mining industry, as part of a new policy implemented by Guinea's military junta.
