India’s Jindal Steel will build an integrated iron and steel plant in Oman after signing an investment agreement with the Public Establishment for Industrial Estates (Madayn). The RO 150 million project spans over 583,000 square meters in phase 7 of Suhar Industrial City.

This development aligns with national economic diversification goals and strengthens local supplies for the construction, infrastructure, and manufacturing sectors. It will also raise exports and generate new jobs for Omani citizens.

The initiative broadens Jindal Group's regional footprint, expanding on its recent acquisition of Al Qamar Steel Company. By scaling up operations in Suhar, the project positions the industrial city as a central hub for heavy manufacturing and regional logistics.
