Morocco starts sunset review of safeguard measure on welded steel pipes

On June 12, 2023, the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Morocco issued an initiation of the first sunset review investigation of the safeguard measure applied to imports of iron or steel welded tubes and pipes, following an application filed by the Association de Fabricants de Tubes et de Profiles en Acier du Maroc (Association of Manufacturers of Steel Tubes and Profiles of Morocco).

On January 1, 2022, the HS codes of the products involved in this investigation are changed to 7306.19.10.90, 7306.19.99.00, 7306.30.10.99, 7306.30.99.00, 7306.50.10.90, 7306.50.99.00, 7306.61.10.10, 7306.61.10.90, 7306.61.90.00, 7306.69.10.00, 7306.69.99.00, 7306.90.20.12, 7306.90.20.19, 7306.90.20.22, 7306.90.20.29, 7306.90.20.39, 7306.90.90.19, and 7306.90.90.99.
The investigation for the extension started on June 13, 2023.

On November 6, 2020, Morocco officially imposed a 25% safeguard measure duty on subject goods, with a rate decreased by 1% year by year, valid for three years until November 5, 2023.
