Mexico launches AD review on Vietnam’s micro-welding wire

19 May 2026 16:41 reported by Joy Liu

Mexico's Ministry of Economy (SE) initiated an interim anti-dumping (AD) review on micro-welding wire imports from Vietnam on May 15, 2026.

Following a request from domestic producers, the investigation examines solid carbon steel wire alloyed with manganese and silicon, coated with copper or not, in diameters from 0.6 to 1.6 mm, melted to join steel sections through an electric arc process, exported between January 2025 and December 2025.

The existing 36.23% AD duty imposed in December 2024 remains active.

This regulatory action succeeds the initial trade probe opened in October 2023, which resulted in the definitive tariff order. The new review directive became effective the day after its publication.
