Piyush Goyal, India’s Minister of Commerce and Industry, said that the India-Oman Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) will officially take effect on June 1, 2026. He said the deal is expected to give a major boost to bilateral trade, with Oman offering duty-free access to nearly 98% of Indian exports.

The announcement came after a recent visit to India by an Omani delegation focused on expanding trade and investment ties.

Goyal also said India and Chile are in talks to upgrade their current trade pact into a CEPA to further strengthen economic cooperation and trade between the two countries.
