Tunisia imposes safeguard measure on imports of iron or non-alloy steel wires

According to the notification received by the WTO Committee on Safeguards on December 21, 2023 at the request of the delegation of Tunisia, Tunisia made a final determination of the safeguard measure on imports of iron or non-alloy steel wires, deciding to impose quota restrictions on the subject goods for a period of three years.

From the date of publication to November 30, 2024, the quantity for importing quota is 764 tons. The quota from December 1, 2024 to November 30, 2025 is 1,020 tons, and that from December 1, 2025 to November 30, 2026 is 1,274 tons.

The products involved are uncoated iron or non-alloy steel wires used for the manufacture of furniture and mattress springs, with an average carbon content between 0.25% and 0.6% or greater than 0.6%, under HS codes 72171050002 and 72171090100.
