Global green steel producer Tosyalı is expanding its footprint with a major investment in Benghazi, Libya. Partnering with Libya United Steel Company for the Iron and Steel Industry (SULB), Tosyalı will construct the world's largest Direct Reduced Iron (DRI) complex. This new venture continues Tosyalı's global expansion following projects in Turkey, Algeria, Senegal, Angola, and Spain.

Tosyalı Chairman Fuat Tosyalı emphasized the strategic importance of this investment, highlighting its potential to drive economic, environmental, and social benefits in Libya. The project, which will build facilities with a combined capacity of 8.1 million tons, will utilize MIDREX Flexi DRI technology to produce low-carbon, green steel. The first phase of the project, with a 2.7 million-ton capacity, will begin construction soon.
