The Osun State Government has taken enforcement action against tax non-compliance in the region. Last Friday, the government announced the shutdown of Prism Steel Mill in Ikirun, as well as the closure of several business premises in Ede, due to evasion of taxes.

According to a statement by Seun Ayeni, the Information Officer of the Osun State Internal Revenue Service (OIRS), the tax enforcement team led by the OIRS chairman, Mr. Adesola Adewumi, ordered the sealing of the steel company and other affected business premises.

This enforcement action by the Osun State Government demonstrated its commitment to ensuring tax compliance and generating revenue for the state's development. The shutdowns of the steel mill and other business premises serve as a warning to businesses operating in the state to honor their tax obligations or face similar consequences.
