During the annual conference of ALACERO (Latin American Steel Association), the president of the Argentine Chamber of Steel (CAA), Martín Berardi, indicated that the Argentine steel sector will reach the production levels of 2023 next year, given that national production has been growing monthly since July of this year.

On the same occasion, Berardi also criticized the Argentine government's measure to promote the export of metal scrap, which is an essential resource for the steel sector. He highlighted the environmental and economic benefits that would result from prioritizing the internal use of scrap.

In addition, he also expressed his concern about steel imports from China in the region, urging that Argentina should take similar measures as Europe, Brazil, and Colombia to protect national production.
