Argentina initiates AD investigation on steel wheel originating in China

The Argentine Ministry of Economy has announced the launch of an anti-dumping (AD) sunset review investigation on steel wheels from China, following a request by Argentine company DISTRIBUIDORA COMERSUR S.A. The investigation covers steel wheels used in buses, trucks, trailers, and semi-trailers, with nominal diameters greater than or equal to 444.5 mm (17.5 inches) but less than or equal to 622.33 mm (24.5 inches) and nominal widths greater than or equal to 152.4 mm (6 inches).

These products are classified under MERCOSUR Common Nomenclature (NCM) tariff codes 8708.70.90 and 8716.90. No anti-dumping duties will be applied during the investigation period, and the announcement takes effect immediately.

Previously, In December 2018, Argentina began an anti-dumping investigation on Chinese steel wheels. In December 2019, Argentina's Ministry of Production and Labor issued an announcement to confirm the final affirmative ruling and impose a 41.78% anti-dumping duty on the products based on FOB prices, valid for five years.
