Oman's Ministry of Economy has launched a national study to strengthen the development of a 'Green and Circular Economy' as part of its strategy to achieve net-zero carbon emissions by 2050. The study, currently in progress, aims to evaluate the economic costs, benefits, and investment opportunities of this transition. It will provide a comprehensive framework supporting sustainable growth, focusing on green industry investments, job creation, and skills development.

As part of this initiative, a roadmap will be created to guide the transition, identifying investment opportunities and fostering collaboration among various sectors. This initiative aligns with Oman's 2022 commitment to carbon neutrality and its growing role as a hub for green investments, particularly in projects like green hydrogen production and low-carbon industries at the Special Economic Zone in Duqm. These efforts are expected to enhance Oman's global competitiveness and contribute to its long-term sustainability goals.
