Brazil’s Petrobras has announced the signing of a Protocol of Intent with Companhia Siderúrgica Nacional S.A. (CSN) and its innovation-focused subsidiary, CSN Inova Soluções S.A. This agreement marks the initial step toward establishing a commercial-scale low-carbon hydrogen plant in Paraná.

The plant will produce low-carbon hydrogen through the electrolysis of water using renewable electricity sources. This initiative aims to support decarbonization efforts for both Petrobras and CSN, aligning with their shared commitment to reducing emissions and promoting sustainable practices.

The partnership aligns with Petrobras’ Strategic Plan 2050 and Business Plan 2025-2029, which focus on leading the energy transition through emissions reductions and expanding sustainable product offerings.
