Saudi Arabia's Al Watania for Industries (WFI) and China's Donghexin Group will jointly build Saudi Arabia's first integrated tinplate manufacturing plant with an annual output of 400,000 tons. It was scheduled to begin operations in early 2027 and will create more than 500 new jobs.

WFI said the project uses advanced technology and expertise to create competitive products and reduce dependence on imports, which will not only meet local demand but also enable the country to become an exporter of tinplate.

Donghexin Group has been engaged in the tinplate and laminate industry for more than 20 years. The company's goal of this cooperation is to transform the factory into a green electricity, low-carbon factory, and further set a benchmark for the global tinplate industry.
