Turkey seizes business opportunities in Syria's post-war reconstruction

Turkish steel producers have set a target of exporting 750,000 tons of steel to Syria in the second half of 2025, with rebar being the major demand, mainly for post-war reconstruction. At present, Turkish steel mills in Iskenderun have already started to sell to Syria. With the normalization of the situation, exports in the second half of the year could reach 750,000 tons, with a potential of 2 million tons per year in the future.

Turkish steel mills believe that there are great opportunities for the reconstruction of Syria, which will be very favorable for the Turkish steel industry. On the one hand, due to its border with Syria, Turkey is a suitable supplier of steel for the reconstruction of Syria. On the other hand, if the Russian-Ukrainian war comes to an end, it will also bring great opportunities to the Turkish steel industry.
