Jindal Shadeed Iron & Steel had commissioned Danieli, an Italian supplier of equipment and physical plants to the metal industry, to upgrade the casting machine capabilities at its Sohar plant in Oman. The upgrade was mainly aimed at diversifying product structure and improving efficiency, enabling the plant to produce steel products of various specifications.

According to the plan, Danieli would introduce advanced automation and control systems, including final electromagnetic stirrers to ensure greater precision and quality in steel production, especially for rail steel applications.

The upgraded technology would enable Jindal Shadeed to expand its market reach by offering advanced functionalities and new specialty steel grades to enter new markets and attract and satisfy a wider customers.

The new products would be put into production in phases from July 2025 to March 2026 to minimize production downtime.
