Abu Dhabi Ports Group (AD Ports Group) announced that it will expand its investment in Kazakhstan and strengthen its strategic layout in the Middle Corridor. The group signed an agreement with Kazakhstan's national oil company KazMunayGas (KMG) to deploy four 780TEU container ships in the Caspian Sea and evaluate joint investment in four Aframax crude oil tankers to support Kazakhstan’s energy sector.

At the same time, AD Ports Group will establish a joint venture with SEMURG Invest LLP to develop the multi-purpose and grain terminals at the Port of Kuryk and expand general cargo and dry bulk shipping services. The group also signed memoranda of understanding with several Kazakh institutions to promote bilateral trade and industrial cooperation.

AD Ports Group has invested US$175 million in Kazakhstan to date, with total commitments expected to reach US$775 million. 

The group's CEO pointed out that this will help create a more efficient and sustainable transportation route between China and Europe and enhance Kazakhstan's status as a regional logistics hub.
