On May 20, 2025, the Colombian Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Tourism (MCIT) announced preliminary anti-dumping (AD) duties on welded steel pipes originating in China.

The preliminary ruling established a minimum import price of US$1,019.50/ton. If the declared FPB price of the imported pipes is below this threshold, a provisional AD duty equivalent to the difference between the minimum price and the declared price will be levied.

This provisional measure takes effect immediately and will remain in force for four months, effective on May 20, 2025.

The AD investigation was initiated on February 20, 2025, following an application filed by the Colombian company Tenaris TuboCaribe Ltda.

The products involved are welded steel pipes with circular section, iron or steel, used for electric cable protection, with a nominal diameter of 12.7 mm (1/2”) to 152.4 mm (6”), classified under HS code 7306.30.99.00.
