According to the Algerian Investment Promotion Agency (AAPI), the Chinese company Jingdong Steel has been awarded a concession contract to build a steel production facility in M'sila.

AAPI said that a contract has been signed for the formal handover of a 36-hectare land in the Drâa El Hadja industrial zone in the province.

The project is valued at US$500 million and will be implemented in two phases. The first phase will focus on constructing a steel sheet production line with an annual output of 200,000 tons, while the second phase will develop a steel tube production facility with an annual capacity of 300,000 tons.

AAPI stated that the industrial complex will become a key strategic hub for supplying steel products to the construction industry in North Africa, expected to create 1,114 direct jobs and approximately 2,000 indirect jobs.
