Egypt’s Ministry of Industry and Transport is formulating a comprehensive strategy to localize automotive sheet metal production, aligning with national efforts to boost local manufacturing and integrate supply chains.

The announcement followed a meeting with major steel producers and representatives from the automotive and bus manufacturing sectors. The session focused on practical approaches to enhance Egypt’s production capacity in this area, which was identified as a national priority.

The authority emphasized that the localization strategy centers on sustainable legislation, incentives, and execution frameworks. It noted that localizing automotive sheet metal production could expand domestic manufacturing of vehicle components and support new industrial partnerships.
