Brazil seeks new trade strategies to counter high US tariffs

According to the report, the United States (US) decided to levy tariffs of up to 50% on certain Brazilian products, the Brazilian government and enterprises are actively pursuing China as an alternative export destination. Additionally, the Chinese government is eager to enhance trade collaboration with Brazil, especially in sectors such as food, energy, and industrial raw materials.

Thomas Law, chairman of the Brazil-China Sociocultural Institute (Ibrachina), stated that China aims to diversify its supply chains by partnering with countries that have stable diplomatic relations and strong ties, positioning Brazil as a key partner. China has started importing goods from Brazil that were previously supplied by the US, indicating a change in its trade focus.

While Brazil primarily exports agricultural goods and raw materials to China, and mainly high-value industrial products to the US. The Ibrachina stated that moving industrial products into the Chinese market remains a difficult task.
