Luxembourg-based steel pipe manufacturer Tenaris announced a major breakthrough in Brazil’s offshore energy sector, successfully completing the installation of next-generation corrosion-resistant alloy (CRA) tubulars in deepwater wells at the Búzios and Jubarte pre-salt fields. 

These tubulars, equipped with Dopeless® coating technology and high-performance TenarisHydril Blue® connections, are designed to ensure structural reliability under harsh offshore conditions while enhancing efficiency and sustainability.

Each well required the installation of more than 400 pipes, all manufactured with Superduplex 25Cr grade steel. Since the Dopeless® technology applies its multifunctional coating during the manufacturing process, it significantly reduces cleaning and handling work before installation and minimizes the environmental footprint of offshore operations. 

This development highlights Brazil’s steady adoption of advanced technologies in deepwater exploration and further strengthens Tenaris’ position in the global offshore oil and gas industry.
