Emirates Steel (EMSTEEL), a worldwide leader in low-carbon steel manufacturing based in the United Arab Emirates, announced it has become the first steel company in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) to obtain ResponsibleSteel™ core site certification.

ResponsibleSteel™ is the steel sector's inaugural worldwide standard and certification program involving multiple stakeholders, evaluating responsible sourcing, climate change, diversity, human rights, and environmental management. This certification is awarded after a full ESG assessment by CARES.

Annie Heaton, CEO of ResponsibleSteel, stated that this marks the first occasion a steel company in the Middle East and North Africa has earned this certification, establishing a new benchmark for the steel industry in the region.

Lee Brankley, CEO of CARES, highlighted that EMSTEEL has completely satisfied ResponsibleSteel's ESG criteria.
