Canada imposes provisional duties on steel strapping from 4 countries

On September 16, 2025, the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) issued its preliminary determinations of dumping on steel strapping originating in or exported from China, South Korea, Turkey, and Vietnam, and subsidizing on the same products from China.

Provisional duties, including anti-dumping (AD) and countervailing duties (CVD), are now in effect for the subject goods released from the CBSA on or after September 16, 2025. The duty rate is 9.2%-48.8% for China, 2.3%-33.4% for South Korea, 42.3% for Turkey, and 3.5%-40.4% for Vietnam.

The products involved are carbon or alloy steel strapping, classified under HS codes 7212.20.00.30, 7212.30.00.10, 7212.30.00.30, 7212.40.00.10, 7212.40.00.29, 7212.40.00.90, 7212.50.00.50, 7212.60.00.00, 7217.10.00.55, 7217.20.00.10, 7217.30.00.10, 7226.99.00.93, 7312.90.00.00, and 7326.20.00.00.
