Taiwan imposes provisional AD duties on China's flat hot-rolled steel products

Taiwan’s Customs Administration has confirmed anti-dumping (AD) measures on Chinese hot-rolled flat steel products, citing evidence of unfair pricing that harmed local producers.

Effective September 24, temporary AD tariffs are imposed at rates between 16.10% and 20.15%. Major Chinese mills, including Baoshan Iron & Steel, Baosteel Zhanjiang Iron & Steel, and Shanghai Meishan Iron & Steel, were assigned a final dumping margin of 16.1%, slightly lower than preliminary findings, while other exporters remain at 20.15%.

The Ministry of Economic Affairs will next assess whether such imports have materially injured Taiwan’s steel industry and evaluate broader economic impacts. Based on its findings, authorities will decide whether AD duties should be enforced.
