Turkey’s OYAK has acquired Germany-based Steag Power GmbH’s 51% stake, gaining full control of İSKEN Enerji, which produces around 3% of Turkey's total electricity.

The move secures OYAK’s ownership of the İSKEN Sugözü Power Plant in Adana. The plant has an installed capacity of 1,360 MW and produces 9 billion kWh of electricity annually, supplemented by a 27 MW solar facility.

OYAK now also controls İSKEN’s port and handling operations. General Manager Murat Yalçıntaş said this acquisition is a strategic step to secure Turkey’s energy supply.
