UAE extends 10% customs duty on imports of reinforcing steel and steel coils

According to Dubai Customs Notice 14/2025, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) has extended the 10% customs duty on imports of reinforcing steel and steel coils for another year, until October 12, 2026.

The duty, originally increased from 5% in January 2019, has been prolonged to continue supporting the domestic steel industry.

This decision was made after the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Ports Security announced it, along with the letter from the Ministry of Finance.

The products involved are under HS codes 72131000, 72132000, 72139100, 72139900, 72141010, 72141020, 72141090, 72142010, 72142020, 72142090, 72143010, 72143020, and 72143090.
