UAE launches AD investigation on China’s heavy steel sections

20 Oct 2025 13:48 reported by Joy Liu

A A A
The Ministry of Foreign Trade of the United Arab Emirates initiated an anti-dumping (AD) investigation into imports of heavy steel sections from China, following a complaint filed by Emirates Steel, the UAE’s only domestic producer of heavy sections.

The complaint claimed that Chinese exporters sold steel at unfairly low prices, injuring the domestic industry, resulting in falling prices, loss of market share, and reduced profits.

The products involved are under HS codes 7216.31, 7216.32, 7216.33, and 7228.70. The investigation period is from July 1, 2024, to June 30, 2025, and the injury analysis period spans from January 1, 2021, to June 30, 2025.
