Australia’s Anti-Dumping Commission has released its preliminary findings in Statement of Essential Facts for an anti-dumping (AD) review on certain hot rolled deformed steel reinforcing bars in lengths (rebars) from Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, Turkey, and Vietnam.

The review, covering an investigation period from July 1, 2023, to June 30, 2024, concluded that dumped exports from Malaysia (excluding Southern Steel Berhad), Thailand, Turkey, and Vietnam (excluding Hoa Phat Hai Duong Steel Joint Stock Company) appear to have harmed the Australian industry.

The duty is 9.2%-26.2% for Malaysia, 3.1%-6.7% for Thailand, 7.7%-36.4% for Turkey, and 9.5%-17.3% for Vietnam. Insufficient grounds for a dumping duty notice were found for Pt Ispat Panca Putera and Pt Putra Baja Deli (Baja Deli) from Indonesia, Southern Steel from Malaysia, and Hoa Phat from Vietnam.

The products involved are under HS codes 7214.20.00.47, 7228.30.10.70, 7228.30.90.40, and 7228.60.10.72.
