On October 27, 2025, the Australian Anti-Dumping Commission announced its final negative determination of the anti-circumvention investigation on steel rod in coil from China. The Minister for Industry and Science accepted the Commission's recommendation to maintain the existing anti-dumping (AD) measures without alteration.

The investigation, launched on May 9, 2024, at the request of InfraBuild (Newcastle) Pty Ltd, examined whether Chinese steel rod in coil was being minimally modified into mesh sheets having by weight a carbon content of less than or equal to 0.20%, under HS code 7314.20.00.24, to bypass current AD duties on steel rod in coil, under HS code 7213.91.00.44 and 7227.90.90.02. The final ruling confirmed that no circumvention activity was found.
