Alto, a nation-building project, along with its partner Cadence, is engaging with Canada's steel industry to explore the supply opportunities.

Alto plans to prioritize procurement of domestic steel, as the high-speed rail project requires substantial quantities of core materials like steel. The rail line is projected to create over 50,000 jobs and generate up to $35 billion in annual productivity gains.

The Canadian government has designated the project a national strategic priority, supporting its launch within four years. Pre-procurement for various components is scheduled to commence in 2026.
