ArcelorMittal's Mexican plant experiences strike due to wage and profit-sharing disputes

ArcelorMittal's steel mill in Lázaro Cárdenas, Michoacán, Mexico, has been on strike since November 19 over a dispute regarding wages and profit sharing.

The union argues that while the company is maintaining production and market prices, employee bonuses have been reduced due to declining profits, prompting workers to blockade blast furnaces and key processes, demanding improved working conditions.

The mill also suspended long product production in July due to equipment safety issues, further increasing operational pressure.

ArcelorMittal has begun negotiations with the union, hoping to resolve the impasse quickly and restore normal production capacity.
