On November 25, 2025, the Australian Anti-Dumping Commission initiated an anti-dumping (AD) investigation on certain welded steel mesh sheets imported from China and Malaysia, following an application from local manufacturers, InfraBuild Australia Pty Ltd (InfraBuild) and the Steel Reinforcement Institute of Australia (SRIA).

The investigation period is from October 1, 2024, to September 30, 2025, and the injury analysis is from July 1, 2021.

The products involved are welded steel mesh sheets formed by intersecting longitudinal and transverse members with diameters ranging from 3 mm to 14 mm and with at least one aperture size of 80cm2 or more. This scope includes all sheets up to 15 meters in length, even those with bends, regardless of the steel's surface profile, alloy content, or coating. The subject goods are under HS codes 7314.20.00.24, 7314.31.00.37, and 7314.39.00.38.

The Commission is scheduled to submit its final recommendation to the Minister of Industry and Science no later than April 29, 2026.
