EU finalizes safeguard measures on imports of silicon and manganese-based alloys

The European Union has concluded its safeguard investigation into imported silicon and manganese-based alloying elements. On November 18, 2025, the European Commission announced its final decision to impose trade restrictions for a period of three years.

The Commission decided to establish specific tariff rate quotas for each product type and a minimum import price for the affected products.

The original investigation was initiated by the Commission on December 19, 2024.

These final restrictions apply to products under CN codes 7202 11, 7202 19, 7202 21, 7202 29, 7202 30, and 7202 99 30.
