The Office of the United States Trade Representative (USTR) announced an extension of 178 exclusions under the Section 301 investigation into China’s acts, policies, and practices related to technology transfer, intellectual property, and innovation. These exclusions, originally set to expire on November 29, 2025, will now remain in effect until November 10, 2026.

According to USTR, the extension follows the trade and economic deal reached between President Donald Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping on November 1, 2025. The decision also reflects public comments submitted on whether the exclusions should be further extended. Acting under the President’s direction, the USTR confirmed that all 178 exclusions scheduled to lapse in late November 2025 will be extended through November 10, 2026.
