The Salzgitter Group, through its subsidiary Ilsenburger Grobblech GmbH, has secured expanded material approval from the German Federal Office of Defense Technology and Procurement (WTD 91) for its SECURE safety steels. The existing SECURE 500® grade is now approved in thicknesses from 6 to 25 mm for defense applications, meeting the demanding TL (Technical Delivery Conditions) 2350-0000 requirements.

Besides, SECURE 450® (6-20 mm) also received certification. This combined portfolio allows Salzgitter to supply more than 50% of the steel needed for many military vehicle variants and protective systems.

With expected future approvals for SECURE 400® and 600®, the company is expected to become a near-complete supplier. The achievement confirms Salzgitter's expertise and recently led to its approval as a preferred A-supplier for a major defense integrator.
