Asia United Steel has officially begun construction of a new steel plant in the Kazybek Bek Industrial Zone in the Almaty region of Kazakhstan.

The project will be implemented in three phases and is scheduled to start production in 2027, with an annual capacity of 1.2 million tons of steel. It will create approximately 600 jobs and utilize modern, energy-efficient electric arc furnaces to meet environmental standards.

Most of the production will supply both the domestic market and exports to Central Asian countries. The project is expected to strengthen Kazakhstan's position in the regional steel market.
