Japanese steel equipment maker Steel Plantech announced that it will launch a new US-based company in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The subsidiary, named Steel Plantech USA Inc. (SPUS), will officially start operations in April 2026. Hiroshi Goto, the Executive Officer and Deputy General Manager of Plant Engineering, will lead the new office as president.

The company chose this location to better serve the US steel industry as local firms upgrade old machinery and build new production lines. By establishing a permanent base, Steel Plantech aims to provide faster service and custom technical solutions. This move allows the company to capture growing business opportunities in the American market.
