India sets 5-year AD duty on electrical steel imports from China

19 Dec 2025 16:44 reported by Judy Lin

On December 18, 2025, the Indian government announced it would impose an anti-dumping (AD) duty on imports of cold-rolled non-oriented electrical steel (CRNO) from China. According to the notification from the Directorate General of Trade Remedies (DGTR), the duty rate ranges from US$223.82 to US$414.92 per ton.

However, cold-rolled full hard silicon electric steel (CRFH), which is used to produce CRNO, is excluded from this AD duty.

DGTR launched the investigation and found that the subject products were dumped, which resulted in injury to the domestic industry. Therefore, it recommended the imposition of the AD duty.
