Kurum International is strengthening its green steel portfolio with a major new venture in Albania. The company, alongside Italian technology leader Danieli, has formalized a EUR 150 million investment to construct a state-of-the-art steel manufacturing facility in Elbasan's Metallurgical Industrial Zone.

The project, celebrated at a signing ceremony in Tirana with government and partner representatives, marks a strategic industrial advancement for Albania. It will utilize Danieli's pioneering MIDA Steel Concept, positioning the Elbasan plant as the first of its kind in Europe. This technology enables a low-carbon, environmentally friendly production process.

Arif Shkalla, CFO of Kurum International, highlighted the facility's role in promoting environmental sustainability. He emphasized that the MIDA concept provides a production model fully aligned with zero-carbon emission goals, setting a new benchmark for the industry.
